主要描述他們出發去尋找傳聞中在森林的一具屍體的經過

同時也深入了每個角色的內心與成長背景,還有對未來的期望

片中還有一段是講主角小時候的一篇短篇小說,有點像是劇中劇

還挺有趣的

原著小說是恐怖小說之王史蒂芬金所寫的四季奇譚中的一篇中篇小說

小說和電影都很優秀,尤其是電影主題曲Stand by Me

更成為了懷舊友情的經典曲目

　８０年代，世紀黑死病AIDS的出現，震驚了全世界，及至１９９９年的年終，全球醫學界依然沒有研究出治癒這種疾病的方法。感染到AIDS的病患，等於被宣判了死刑。

　感染AIDS的高危險群，初期的調查報告多為同性戀者與吸毒者。很不幸的，在愛滋病例被發現後，西洋流行歌壇即有一些著名藝人因此病而過世，例如皇后合唱團（ Queen ）的主唱 Freddy Mercury。

　從事演藝工作者的確有些人在功成名就之後，私生活較為糜爛，但往者已矣，事後再以道德批判的眼光來看待往生者，根本無濟於事。1985年，黑人女歌星狄翁渥薇克（惠妮休斯頓的姑姑）決定為病逝的歌壇友人做些事情，她和史提夫汪德、艾爾頓強和葛萊迪絲奈特（ Gladys Knight）等幾位大牌歌星聯合義唱了一首單曲" That's what friends are for"，以悼念死去的歌壇戰友，期盼喚醒人們對防治愛滋病的重視，單曲的銷售所得並悉數做為愛滋病防治基金。這首歌推出之後，很快進入排行榜，並坐了好幾週的冠軍寶座。
